Children's Thoughts And Feelings About Public Speaking Classes

The following are some feedback written by children from Grade 4/5C Malvern Primary School about public speaking program:

Freddie: I think Mrs Purple should come again next year. Lots of people are now confident. I learnt to never show your nerves. Maybe you should get a few more new toys.

Baden: I was nervous about speaking, now not as much. I really thought it was good to know what to do and what not to do while speaking to people.

Rosie: I have become much more brave when speaking in front of others. I really enjoyed your program.

Jack: I think Mrs Purple should come back and definitely for 4's and 5's. I really enjoyed it. Maybe you should have public speaking games and exercises.

Amy: On the 2nd week I was nervous and in the 3rd week I was way more confident and she was lots of fun. Thank you Mrs Purple you really builded (sic) my confidence.

Isobel: I really enjoyed it and I feel a lot more confident. I think you should have different toys in the second week.

Marcelle: I thought it was great! She gave me better confidence and made me more interesting to the audience. We should have had more lessons.

Lachie A: Thank you for encouraging and telling us what we could work on.

Mia: I think the program was brilliant! Before her lessons I was really nervous. After her first lesson I got told that I was very good public speaker by my Italian teacher.

Hannah: Well done. I have come out of myself better than before. I think that the toys were a bit distracting.

Alexander M: I learnt that you breathe instead of saying 'um' because I used to say 'um' a lot. We could choose our own topics.
